Trapped By the Viewer’s Gaze

This body of work is about the feeling of being trapped within an image. When a photo is taken of someone, whether in a good or bad way, that person is immortalized forever within the photo. By being pressed against the glass, the models in the photos may be begging for help, or they may be condemning the viewer for looking. A piece of glass was pressed against the model's face during the photoshoot so that when physically presented in a frame, it would appear as if the model was pressing against the glass of the frame. This series of digital photographs was made in 2022, and part of the series was on display in Shepherd University’s gallery for the summer of that year.
